Australian Blackwood aka Acacia Melanoxylon belongs to the acacia genus and has become a popular and exciting wood for instrument making. This strikingly marked wood is often used for tops, sides and backs by elite luthiers inparticular. For 2023 Ovation chose an attractive black burst finish that harmonises well with the dark grain of the wood.
