The Fender American Stratocaster Plus series was first produced in 1987 through to 1995 as a "PLUS" version to the American Standard model. The Strat Plus series featured Noiseless Lace Sensor pick ups, locking tuners and a roller nut. Thus allowing for the removal of string trees on the headstock. The Stratocaster Plus range consisted of the Strat Plus, Plus Deluxe and then the Plus Ultra that followed in 1990. The American Plus series was superceded by the Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster in 1995.
