Lead II
Introduced in 1979 alongside its sibling, the Lead I, the Fender Lead II featured dual single-coil pickups, a hardtail bridge, and a streamlined double-cutaway body. Designed to provide a budget-friendly yet high-quality alternative to Fender’s main line, it offered a distinctive tone with bright clarity and a tight low end. Its unique pickup switching and compact form factor helped it find favour with new wave and indie players. Discontinued in 1982, the Lead II has since earned cult status. Looking to sell?
