Fender Guitars are a brand that needs little introduction. With its roots starting back in 1928 as Fenders Radio Service, most people are familiar with the Fender story starting in 1950 with the first introduction of "Telecaster" designs and laterly in 1954 with the legendary Stratocaster. 1965 is a key date in Fender Guitar history with the CBS buyout marking a significant change of ownership and management. Guitars and basses that date "Pre CBS" command a significant premium in the Vintage Guitar market. That being said, the desirablity of later 60s, and even 70s and some early 80s models is gaining significant momentum as vintage stock is increasingly being bought up by players and collecters alike.
