What Acoustic Guitar To Buy For a Beginner?

This is a great question, and there are many great value Acoustic Guitars in the marketplace. Here are some of our favourites: Yamaha F310 Fender CD-60 Epiphone DR-100 Fender CD-60S. The first three models above are all priced similarly in and around the £120-140 price bracket and are based on traditional Dreadnought or Western body designs. They are full sized bodies and scale lengths. They have a lovely sound and good playability for the price point making them excellent choies for the beginner. We have also included the Fender CD-60S in this initial list of acoustic guitars for beginners also. This is the Solid Top verison of the cheaper CD-60. The Solid Top refers to the soundboad of the acoustic guitar (The front of the guitar with the hole in it) which is the bit that is designed to resonate the most. A solid wooden top is generally considered to have a richer/warmer acoustic tone than cheaper layered wood top models. If you are minded to keep the acosutic guitar for some time - then this can be worth paying that little bit extra for, as you become more advanced, you will appreciate the finer details. There are so many ways of tackling this question, but we hope this gives you a starting point when chosing a beginners acoustic guitar.

This is such a subjective question. Which acoustic guitar brand is best can be hard to judge as almost every acoustic brand has something unique that makes it a compelling purchase choice for customers. What acoustic guitar is best for Kids?

Kids obviously grow at different rates - so there's some generalisation of size/age in suggestion below. Generally, your average 9 year old is probably sufficiently grown for their arms to reach over a full sized acoustic guitar body. For younger kids a 3/4 sized guitar, or smaller body shape could be useful. If you check out the Valencia VC203 - it is a great option for those looking for a classical guitar. The Gretsch G9500 Jim Dandy is a top selling, small bodied acoustic guitar. The Sigma GTCE is a full sized acoustic with a small body shape so is a good option for growing limbs!!!
