Feel what you play. Play what you feel. Thanks to the new OPTIWEB Coating, these nickel-plated steel electric guitar strings give you the performance of a natural string-that crisp tone, natural feel and playable grip you know and love-without sacrificing the signature long-lasting tone life of Elixir Strings. Compared to our POLYWEB Coating and NANOWEB Coating, the OPTIWEB Coating offers our most natural and familiar feel. This lightweight coating allows the string to vibrate with less damping, while also having a firm grip, putting you in control of bends, vibrato and sustain.

So choose the same premium electric guitar strings that experienced players worldwide trust to keep their incredible tone longer than any other string available. Unlike other string brands, Elixir Strings coats the whole string. This protects not only the outer string surface but also the gaps between the windings where common tone-deadening gunk typically builds up in other brands' coated and uncoated guitar strings. Anti-Rust Plating on plain steel strings ensures longer tone life for the entire set.

Who wouldn't love more quality playing time between the hassle and cost of string changes?

For a slicker, gentler feel, try a set of electric guitar strings with our POLYWEB Coating, which also feature our warmest tone. Meanwhile, our NANOWEB coated strings sound bright and feel smooth, striking a dynamic balance between POLYWEB Coating and OPTIWEB Coating.

Of course, the kind of string you play is all a matter of personal preference. Not sure what tone or feel is right for you? Try them out for yourself, and find your new favorite string from Elixir Strings.

Elixir Strings: Great tone. Long life.

Elixir Electric Guitar Strings with OPTIWEB Coating - Super Light (.009-.042)

So far , so good. I've not had them on a guitar long enough to determine how long they will last but they certainly feel an sound better than Elixir Polyweb strings and they lasted quite well. When I say "quite well" I mean that the plain strings don't turn brown with rust after just a week of use but unlike D'Addario strings, which I couldn't break no matter how rusty they became, the high E string in every set of Elixir Polyweb I've had snapped after about four or five weeks of use, regardless of which of my guitars they were fitted to. I can only assume that the Optiweb strings will be the same.Aside from the above caveat, they sound bright and articulate and continue to do so right up until the inevitable snapped high E string, unlike every other string out there which literally begin to tarnish after just one hour of playing with my sweaty hands, resulting in a dulling of the tone. For me, Elixir strings are cheaper in the long run (even though they're more expensive per pack) because of how much longer I can use them for and they save me a lot of time that would otherwise be spent re-stringing.
