The Fender American Special Telecaster, introduced in 2010, offered musicians a U.S.-crafted instrument at an accessible price point. This model featured Texas Special single-coil pickups, delivering a hotter output with a midrange emphasis, ideal for blues and rock genres. The inclusion of the Greasebucket tone circuit allowed players to roll off treble frequencies without adding bass, maintaining clarity and definition. A three-saddle vintage-style bridge with brass saddles provided classic Telecaster twang and sustain. The 9.5" fingerboard radius and jumbo frets ensured comfortable playability and easier bending. Production of the American Special Telecaster continued until 2019, when it was succeeded by the American Performer series.
