Ovation Celebrity Elite Deluxe Plus - Amber Flamged Mahogany
Flamed okoume, also known as Aucoumea klaineana, is a very visually appealing wood and has therefore been used in guitar making for many years. The wood used for Ovation guitars comes from Gabon on the West African coast and therefore bears the trade name Gabon mahogany. Mahogany is generally used in many areas: It is often used for the neck and body of electric guitars, while the flamed version is often used for the back, sides or top of acoustic guitars.
In terms of sound, it offers a rich bass, controlled highs and perfectly balanced mids and therefore makes a significant contribution to the balanced overall sound of a guitar. Gabon mahogany can have a light to reddish-brown colour; we have opted for the light version to give the amber finish and grain additional depth.
Gold-plated machine heads from the Pro series and a special MOP inlay on the 12th fret underline the colour concept and the high-quality overall impression of the CDX40-1G. Further highlights of this guitar are the side ports which, in combination with the Quintad bracing, create a particularly appealing sound experience for players and listeners.
