THE RICH TONE SECOND-HAND GUIDE
More guitar. More sound.More for your money.
Second-hand guitars, amps and effects pedals are a great way to make your budget go further. Step up to the instrument you've had your eye on, add another flavour to your pedalboard or find an amp that brings your sound to life. Our used range opens up a world of possibilities, from everyday favourites to something a little out of the ordinary.
Find your next guitar
Explore second-hand electric guitars and used acoustic guitars. Buying used can bring a higher-spec model or a long-admired instrument within reach, giving you more guitar for your money.
Build a bigger sound
Discover second-hand amps and used effects pedals. Put your budget towards the tone and features you want, try a different sound or add the missing piece to your setup while getting more from your budget.
Discover something special
The second-hand market is a chance to find rare guitars, discontinued pedals, unusual finishes and limited-edition models that sold out first time round. Explore the brands and model ranges you love: your next favourite could be a piece you haven't seen for years.
Great instruments deserve to keep making music
Choosing second-hand gives existing gear a new chapter. With a guitar, that means making continued use of the timber, materials and craftsmanship already built into it. With amps and pedals, it means keeping useful equipment in players' hands for longer. Reuse is a practical way to make music with more of what is already here.
A well-cared-for guitar can offer years of music-making to its next owner. The appeal might be its feel, its sound, its character or simply the chance to own a model you've always wanted.
Find the right example for you
Browse by brand, shape and model, then explore each item's photographs and condition notes to get to know that particular piece. The listing details its specification and included accessories, helping you choose the guitar, amp or pedal that fits your plans. For inspiration, explore our used Fender Stratocasters and second-hand Taylor acoustics.

Second-hand guitars & gear: your questions answered
Why buy second-hand guitars, amps and pedals?
Great value, more choice and the chance to discover something special. Buying used can put a higher-spec guitar, a different amp or an extra pedal within your budget. It also opens up older models, distinctive finishes and discontinued favourites alongside familiar current ranges.
Can I find rare or limited-edition models?
Second-hand gear is an exciting place to look for models that are no longer made or sold out when they were new. Availability changes as individual pieces come and go, so explore the relevant brand and model categories to see what's available now.
Can I try an instrument in your Sheffield store?
Yes, come and explore our Sheffield store. If you have a particular instrument in mind, contact us before your visit so we can confirm it's available and ready for you to view.
Where can I see which accessories are included?
Each item's listing is the place to find its included case, gig bag, power supply or other accessories. Our team can help with any questions about a particular guitar, amp or pedal.
How does Sell Your Gear work?
Start with our Sell Your Gear enquiry. Tell us the make, model and condition, add photographs and let us know whether you'd like to sell or part exchange. It's a way to turn gear you're ready to move on into room for your next musical chapter.
Why keep sold-out instruments on the website?
Our previous listings form a useful reference library for exploring models, specifications and examples we've handled. For your next purchase, browse the related category for available stock. For a current selling or part-exchange quote, head to Sell Your Gear.
How will my order be delivered?
We use FedEx and DPD for deliveries, and Royal Mail for small items.
