The Fender American Special Stratocaster was introduced in 2010 and remained in production until 2018. Positioned as an affordable yet high-quality option within Fender's American-made lineup, it offered classic Stratocaster tone and style with modern features.
Equipped with three Texas Special single-coil pickups, the American Special Stratocaster delivered the classic Stratocaster tone with added punch and midrange bite, making it ideal for blues, rock, and country playing styles.
Featuring Fender's Greasebucket tone circuit, players could roll off highs without adding bass, maintaining clarity and definition at lower volume levels. The modern "C" neck profile provided a comfortable playing experience suitable for a wide range of playing styles.
The American Special Stratocaster also featured a vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge, allowing for smooth tremolo action and reliable tuning stability. Available in various finishes, including 3-Color Sunburst, Olympic White, Black, Candy Apple Red, and Sonic Blue, it allowed players to choose a guitar that matched their personal style. The American Special Stratocasters were all originally supplied with a Fender Deluxe Gig Bag.
